The Strayed Diaspora refers to those with Rusyn ancestry in North America that either see themselves as fully American or part of a different Eastern European ethnicity. One can refer to an individual who does not know of their native Rusynness as a strayed one. At this time only 5-10% of the estimated 500,000 Rusyn-Americans living in the United States are cognizant of their heritage.
