Records of the Central Rusyn National Council

Records from May 1919 meetings of the Central Rusyn National Council, a political body formed by representatives of previous national councils (in Užhorod, Chust and Prešov) with participants from the Lemko Region and the United States.

The Central Rusyn National Council accepted unification with Czechoslovakia, naming G. Zhatkovych its “first minister” assigned to negotiate with Prague in the name of Carpatho-Rusyns. The issue of uniting all of Carpathian Rus did not receive support – in the end, the territorial question was limited to the conflict around the Prešov Region.
