This publication reproduces and analyzes one of the oldest surviving documents in the Rusyn language: a confirmation patent issued by the sons of voivode Balicza in 1404. The patent concerns the jurisdiction of the Hrušovo Monastery, and as such is important for early Rusyn ecclesiastical history. Other documents pertaining to the monastery are also reviewed.
