Records from the September 1919 founding meeting of the National Congress of American Rusyns, a new political body organized by its predecessor, the American National Council of Uhro-Rusyns. A report by Gregory Zhatkovych dealt with the situation in Europe and the expected Rusyn self-determination. The account of ANCUR’s history by Julius Gardoš’ also features the text of the Council’s memorandum presented to U.S. President Woodrow Wilson in October 1918. The Congress also agreed some details of the Rusyn territory’s status within Czechoslovakia (e.g. state symbols). The publication also names ANCUR executive board members, as well as the delegates present at the meeting.
