This was facilitated through the lenient policies regarding immigration by the Kingdom of Hungary. In particular, the<em> <\/em><strong>Vlach Law <\/strong>or <strong>Vlach laws <\/strong>set a precedent for migration into the periphery by allowing settlement and offering various benefits like exemption from taxes and military service.
