Instead of commenting on why the creation of a national vision should occur like before, Starik went further and outlined a possible next decade of progress. To this end, he has also helped to crystalize a definition of who the Rusyn people are and what their interests could be in the form of a Carpathian Rusyn nation. This attempt at creating a monumental step forward is nothing like what has been seen before in the Rusyn world and it is needed now more than ever.<\/p>\n<p>Six major goals are laid out that aim to cover the domains of politics, culture, and national viability. They are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"a-unordered-list a-vertical\">\n<li><span class=\"a-list-item\">Official recognition of Rusyns and the Rusyn language as a unique ethnicity and language in Ukraine.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"a-list-item\">The implementation of the 1991 autonomy vote and the renaming of Zakarpattia Oblast to the Autonomous Region of Podkarpatska Rus.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"a-list-item\">The implementation of Rusyn language education in primary and secondary education (from ages 5 to 18) in all regions of Carpathian Rus and the diaspora.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"a-list-item\">The creation of Rusyn minority ethnic parties in Slovakia, Poland, and Ukraine to vouch for the interests of their respective populations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"a-list-item\">Double the population of self-identifying Rusyns in the diaspora and increase the self-identifying Rusyn population in Europe excluding Subcarpathia by at least 50%.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"a-list-item\">Official recognition of the Lemko Ethnocide by the Polish government and the repopulation of Lemkovyna through cooperation with the state and international Rusyn organizations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>How and why these goals should be achieved is further analyzed throughout the following chapters in a way that is both accessible to the average reader while also striving to give a deeper context. Replacing previous introductions, this unified version has a new and exclusive preface explaining the book and its history in more detail. In addition, numerous grammatical, spelling, and formatting issues have been fixed to help make readers more engaged.<\/p>\n<p>Like a movie, these books are the three acts that make up the narrative of <span class=\"a-text-bold\">Sovereignty<\/span>. <span class=\"a-text-italic\">Our Vision<\/span> acts as a call for the need to create a vision for the Rusyn people. <span class=\"a-text-italic\">Duty and Sovereignty<\/span> tells us why we must uphold this vision at all costs. Finally, <span class=\"a-text-italic\">A Critique of Western Influence<\/span> attempts to tell us what will happen should we not do so and what dangers are ahead.
